George Batchelor and the Batchelor Foundation v. BDO Seidman
A Miami jury ordered accounting firm BDO Seidman LLP to pay the Batchelor Foundation and the estate of George Batchelor $91.7 million in damages for fraud and negligence associated with BDO’s audits of a housing developer that later went bankrupt.

The Focal Point worked with the attorneys from Thomas, Alexander & Forrester to design graphics for all phases of trial, including voir dire and key expert testimony. Throughout the trial, the Plantiffs’ presentations emphasized the responsibility auditors have to the investing public, which helped lead to the $55 million in punitive damages the jury awarded.
The jury awarded our clients $36.7 million in compensatory damages and $55 million in punitive damages.
